  • Wa$ted!, Thursdays at 8 pm on Discovery Health Channel
Think that in order to go green, the changes to your lifestyle must be extreme? Think again! This eye-opening half-hour reality series makes shrinking your ecological footprint appealing and virtually effortless. What's an ecological footprint? It's a way of describing the scope of the damage that each household does to the planet, and energetic environmentalist Annabelle Gurwitch (from TBS's "Dinner and a Movie") and her charming conservationist co-host Holter Graham are out to shrink the ecological shoe size of every man, woman, and child in America.

Wa$ted! attacks a spectrum of environmentally unfriendly households across the nation, auditing their waste, energy, water and transportation consumption. Not surprisingly, each episode unearths dozens of eco-horrors that are killing both the environment and the homeowner's bank account. Drafty windows, a television blasting around-the-clock to keep a pet company, spoiled food from over-purchasing -- you name the possible eco-crime, and these households have offended. But no matter how far gone the family, it's not as hard to change hazardous habits as one might think.

Each episode offers dozens of customized, unconventional solutions and easy-to-maintain tips and tricks on how to best shrink ecological footprints, conserve energy and produce less trash, which in turn saves the homeowners (and viewers) some serious cash, both upfront and over the years.

Stuff Happens, Thursdays at 8:30 pm on Discovery Health Channel
Where does all our stuff come from? What happens when we use it? Where does it go when we're through with it? And what impact does it all have on the environment and the entire planet? No matter where we are or what we're doing, when we make stuff…stuff happens. Whether it's in manufacturing, use, or disposal, all our stuff affects all our lives and the health of the Earth.

Acclaimed "Science Guy" Bill Nye is our host as we examine the everyday stuff of our lives, and the far-reaching effects our actions have on the planet. From cashmere sweaters causing dust storms in China, to American pig farmers inadvertently aiding the global collapse of anchovy fisheries, we explore the surprising twists and unintended consequences of all the stuff in our lives.

This exciting half-hour series engages the viewer with astonishing information, easy-to-follow science, lighthearted demonstrations, expert interviews and connective story-telling to amplify growing problems in the environment and important solutions we can all take to make things better. With trademark good humor, Bill Nye helps viewers get a grip on big topics and presents positive, upbeat solutions to the critical problems facing us all.
