I'll keep it simplesince that's what I'm all about and just say this: I don't care what things should look like. I don't care about style prescriptions. All that matters, and the only thing that has real meaning, is what's on the inside.
My philosophy can be summed up with these 10 Ho'isms:
1. The Mind-Body-Health Connection is nothing more than style.
2. Style is not visualit comes from the inside. So it doesn't matter what things look like. If you're not feeling it, we're not tasting it, we're not smelling it, and it definitely won't look good.
3. If you have self-respect, you will be healthy.
4. Color, texture and pattern are meaningless without heart.
5. Healthy eating isn't deliberately low fatit just happens to be low fat.
6. Your level of fitness isn't how much you work out, it's how willing you are to take the stairs instead of the elevator.
7. Live with your silver and crystalwhat are you saving it for?
8. Entertaining isn't in your table settings, wine and candlelightit's rolling up your rug and dancing.
9. The soul of the home isn't in the kitchenit's within its inhabitants.
10. If you have a garlic press, you're wasting time.
Have you pared down your life for the better? I'd love to hear about it. Write to me at dan_ho@discovery.com and your story might make it online!
