Joan is the founder and matriarch of the OPC. Although Elliot (her son) and the staff think she can be tough on them at times, her patients receive nothing but quality care, earning her their utmost admiration and respect.

Joan was the first woman in the U.S. to earn an orthotics and prosthetics certification from the American Board for Certification (ABC). She is a graduate of Tufts University where she earned a degree in occupational therapy. She studied orthotics at New York University and prosthetics at Northwestern University.
