Baby Toys and Games for Birth to Three Months

type size: [A] [A] [A]

During the first three months, infants enjoy things that are visually and aurally stimulating. Babies' vision is still developing, so select brightly colored, high-contrast toys. Parents can imitate the ways in which the baby smacks her lips, sighs and grunts. According to Dr. Singer, don't be afraid to engage in "clownish behavior that attracts the attention of the child. It gives the child focus and it focuses on facial expression, which is a key to human emotions."

Finally, whether played from a recording, or sung by a parent, young babies enjoy soothing music. Singing to your child will help to create a special bond as baby becomes more accustomed to the sound of your voice.
