When most people say the name, Chris Klug, they automatically think of him as a professional snowboarder. Afterall, he took home a bronze medal in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. But what some people may not know is that Chris Klug was the first (and so far only) transplantee to compete in the Olympics.
Back in the early ninties, he was diagnosed with PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitits) a rare degenerative bile duct condition which required a liver transplant. In July of 2000, nine years after being diagnosed and over 5 years waiting on an organ donation list, Chris got his "gift of life" — he received a liver transplant in Denver, Colorado.
Watch and listen as Chris takes you through his journey before and after the transplant and learn how easy it is for you to become an organ donor.
