Insomnia Remedy

type size: [A] [A] [A]

If you've ever searched for a medication to help you through mild insomnia, you know the pickings are slim. Over-the-counter stuff might make you drowsy, but it also might jazz you up. Concerns about purity, side effects and lack of testing have led many sleep experts to caution against the liberal use of melatonin. And prescription drugs often leave you with morning-after grogginess, and their continued use can actually decrease the quality of your sleep.

But don't despair, there's a little something in your medicine cabinet right now that studies show can improve the quality of your sleep longer and deeper. It's that little white wonder-drug called aspirin. It won't make you drowsy, but if you take two at bedtime — with a nice big glass of water — chances are you'll sleep longer through the night, and wake up much less frequently.
