Then Came Six
Meet the Family: Tune in Tuesday, August 5 at 9 pm

The nine-member Harris family is quite something! Raising a 12-year-old son and 5-year-old sextuplets is certainly a challenge for parents Chris and Diamond. Chris uses his skills as an elementary school teacher and Diamond draws on her background as a LPN to parent this remarkable brood. They also rely on help from family and friends, and have received a new home from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. There is never a dull moment with this crew.

Diamond

Diamond, 32, is a full-time student at Virginia College, where she is studying sonography. Sassy, outgoing and lovable, she always sees the glass as half-full. Diamond received her nursing licenses from Meridian Community College in Mississippi. Click here to read her parenting tips.

Chris

Chris is a 33-year-old third-grade teacher. He is loving, patient and understanding. He is sometimes shy and overanalyzes everything. Click here to read his parenting tips.

DeWayne

DeWayne, 12 is a junior high honor roll student. He plays defense for his school’s football team. His biological father died before he was born. Even though he gets tired of the sextuplets coming into his room, he still loves them. As a kid he is quoted as saying, “I asked for one -- not that many!” He loves being their protector.

Kalynne

Kalynne, 5, is a mother figure to her fellow sextuplets. She is very self-sufficient and the spokesperson for the kids. She started in a standard kindergarten classroom and is the most advanced of her siblings.

Kiera

Kiera, 5, is the diva of the group. She likes to take her time and enjoy life. Kiera is in a kindergarten class with Kaleb where they receive individual attention. Kiera soon will be tested for a mild form of autism.

Kaleb

Kaleb, 5, is like a grouchy old man. He is smaller than his siblings and feels he needs to prove himself. He can light up the room with a smile. He is currently in a kindergarten class where he receives special attention. He is mainstreamed into a regular kindergarten classroom for an hour and a half each day.

Kieran

Kieran, 5, is very shy. His feelings can be easily hurt. Everything has to be just as it is with him. He needs to work on his communication skills. He is scared to open his mouth and has a hard time recognizing letters. He is currently in a kindergarten class with Kobe where he receives special attention.

Kobe

Kobe, 5, is the other spokesperson for the group. When paired with Kalynne, they are like Bonnie and Clyde. He is always into something. He is the debater, and will argue with you until he gets what he wants. He is currently in a kindergarten class where he receives special attention. He is working on recognizing verbs. He is mainstreamed into a regular kindergarten classroom for an hour and a half each day.

Kyle

Kyle, 5, is the baby of the group. He is standoffish but loves hugs. He has autism and attends a school for kids with special needs. He is learning sign language to help communicate. He was able to say three words at the beginning of the school year and is now up to 16 words.
