The body produces all the cholesterol it needs. But because of our high-fat, high-processed diet, along with a sedentary lifestyle, many of us have an overabundance of cholesterol, which eventually clogs the arteries and can lead to heart attack or stroke. You may not experience any symptoms if you have high cholesterol and most people don't know they are at risk. That's why it is important to understand cholesterol and its effect on the body and what you can do if your cholesterol is out of control.
Cardiologist Dr. Deborah Barbour has developed an eight-step plan to help lower or prevent the onset of high cholesterol.
