Dr. Roy K. H. Wong graduated with a medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, N.Y., in 1971. Currently chief of gastroenterology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., he is a professor of medicine and director of the Division of Digestive Diseases, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, in Bethesda, Md. Along with holding numerous academic appointments, Dr. Wong has published over 200 original articles, book chapters and abstracts. He is a former chair of the board of governors of the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Wong participates on numerous editorial boards and reviews articles for such journals as Gastroenterology, American Journal of Gastroenterology, Annals, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and American Journal of Medicine, and has been the recipient of many grants for the continued study of gastroenterological diseases.
