National Cancer Institute
The nation's primary agency for cancer-related research and education, the National Cancer Institute is part of the National Institutes of Health. The Cancer Information Service, part of the NCI, interprets and explains research findings to a general audience. Through a network of fourteen regional offices located throughout the country, the CIS serves the entire United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. To receive a personalized response to your specific questions about cancer, call the Cancer Information Service (CIS) at 1-800-4-CANCER (1-800-422-6237) Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. local time to speak with a Cancer Information Specialist.
