How Do I Take Medications to Manage Symptoms?

spacer

Medications to relieve headaches come in many forms. You may take them as tablets, or you may need to inject them. Some come as nasal sprays, and others come in effervescent forms.

These drugs are generally most effective when you take them at an early stage of your headache. If you have migraines with aura, you may find it works best to take your medication at the aura stage. Taking your medication at this time might help you avoid headache symptoms all together. Or it might reduce the intensity and the length of your headache.
